Embossing is the art of forcing paper into dies which create a relief/tactile image on the surface of the paper. The only downsides to this process are; the deboss from the back of the sheet can be undesirable, it is an exact process and not suited to finishing digital printing due to the registration issues, unless you have it as a blind emboss where there is no print on the embossed finish, the embossed items are not recommended for laser printing as can flatten the embossed area.
